Grammar Presentation

I've found interesting to do this presentation, as it's a different and dinamic way of learning English grammar. I also think that it's great that you organised the groups as starting to work was quicker than if we had been the ones to chose our team mates.
If possible, I'll like to propose to continue doing projects as this one.

Report on Night Without End

Nine passengers have taken part in this report based on a plane crash in Greenland (weird situation). I've been observing since then trying to discover who may have been the murderer and I think that definitely I've found him.
First thoughts
In first place, Dr Mason didn't know where to start. He knew that any of the passengers could have caused the crash for many reasons, which he didn't know too. Moreover, he started investigating what could have happened and he find out that a possible murderer could have been Margaret Ross, the stewardess, as she could have drug the passengers and she was near the radio when it broke. However, after speaking with her and listening to her story, Dr Mason realizes that his thoughts were wrong as Miss Ross was about to marry one of the death passengers and that she loved him with all her heart.
Other suspicions
As time went on, Dr Mason started questioning about everybody, as they could all have been the guilty ones. On the one hand, he thought that the murderer was Mr. Mahler because he had stolen the sugar. Nevertheless, Mr. Mahler was diabetic and he needed the sugar more than ever to survive.  It was then when Dr Mason discovered that there were two murderers instead of just one. As a consequence, he decided to talk to Margaret Ross who could have seen who had put drugs in the passengers drink and who had been near the radio at the time it broke. He found out that these people were Zaggero and Mr. Levi.
Final suspicion
Dr Mason decides to investigate both of them, but something takes place, which makes him change his mind. He has found the murderers, the ones to cause the crash and who have been trying to ruin Dr Mason's plans since the beginning, Corazzini and Reverend Smallwood. They do not only steal a missle mechanism but they also decide to run away with the tractor, and not alone, with Margaret Ross and Zaggero who find themselves kidnapped.
Would that be the end of the case?

Composition on English as a global language

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in regard to highlight the outstanding points and shortcomings that English as a universal language has. Some people, particularly those who have English as their native language, say that they would find it useless to learn another language.  There are, however, others who think that acquire the knowledge of other languages is quite beneficial.

First of all, it is undeniable that English is an international language which can be used in all the countries to communicate. Another benefit is that as you to speak English, you have the ability to make business with foreign country, so you have facilities to get a great job. Moreover, we have to take into consideration that English is an easy language to learn compared to Chinese, Spanish or French.

However, there is one problem that should be overcome. There has been a quick globalization of English which its sweeping away lots of languages and cultures which have exist for many years. The disaster that this could cause is enormous, because a world with the same habits and the same idiom would mean a world of monotony, without differences between borders.

To conclude this letter I would like to say that I feel fortunate to have English as my official language as I can travel around the world and communicate with everyone without having to learn a new tongue.

I hope you will find this information of use.

Yours faithfully,

Patricia Arbó
